Ross C.
Private tutor in Dunmore, PA
Education
In 2013, I received my B.S. in Psychology and completed a minor in Sociology at Marywood University. Two years later in 2015, I received my M.A. in Psychology from the same school. Deciding that I wanted to pursue a career in mental health counseling, I went on to complete the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Program in December 2016 at Marywood University.
Experience
Having spent 7 and a half years in higher education across 3 programs, my academic experiences are diverse. Meanwhile, I've gained real world experiences that supplement my education through my work, internships and other academic fieldwork, community involvement, and my personal life. Through this academic training I've learned about not only the fields of psychology, counseling, and many others as part of a liberal arts education, but also writing, studying, and organization skills as keys to succeeding in education at any level. Teaching these skills can be just as important as tutoring in the actual content. Tutoring is not so much as teaching as it is guiding. One analogy is like having a co-pilot who has traveled the journey before. Knowledge is important just as is support, patience, and one's attention. If you are interested in having me be your tutor, please message me and I'll be happy to help you as best I can!
